Convergence of Programming Development Tools for Autonomous Mobile Research Robots

This paper examines the general services and features of computing development environments of autonomous mobile research robots. It outlines the levels of software development support, the parameters of accessible development systems and the convergence of these systems to a standard solution. This paper presents a possible leading development environment of the future, the Microsoft Robotics Studio (MRS). It also examines the advantages and disadvantages of MRS and the specifications of its application.
